There are many aspects that I like about this piece - your reference from childhood, Chuang Tzu’s 心齋 and the fish trap story, Lao Tzu’s idea of wuwei through the art of subtraction.

You are right, we are conditioned since young and unconsciously. Our likings, fear, desires, stored anxiousness. Even if we don’t remember, our body keeps the score.

Powerful reminder to wake up!

P.S. I am visiting Chongqing this 新年, only my second trip to China. Hoping I can visit Xi’an next time, sooner than later.

Glad you like this one! I've just realized recently I've been processing many pieces of memories from the past, and I saw my conditioning.

Interesting! I was having dinner with a friend last week. He's from Chengdu, and he told me the hotpot in Chongqing is better. He also said that the original or authentic Chengdu dishes are not spicy. A big surprise to me! I've got to try it next time I visit Chengdu and, of course, the hotpot in Chongqing. Hope you'll enjoy your stay in Chongqing!

I'm also hoping to go back to see some familiar faces and places in Xi'an next year. So much to expect...

Thanks! Wow I didn’t realize that authentic Chengdu dishes aren’t spicy - I will be on the lookout for those. Nice that you will do a return visit to Xi’an. I will have to ask you for trip recommendations next time!
